Unstoppable Android

Mine may be a wrongheaded view.  Apple is losing. Samsung bought themselves a huge PR / awareness deal. $1B does not seem a high price. Now every child in America knows who they are. The company Apple is very afraid of. But the last week's trial is the old news. And BTW  if you think Samsung has copied some design, look at this one called Yarvik. I have just bought it today. It is IDENTICAL to the iPad. Only runs Android and costs $150 and a change, which for a 10" IPS glass-covered capacitive tablet is A STEAL. Why didn't Apple sue them? Because Yarvik is a meaningless player, while Samsung is the gorilla.

The more recent news, however, is the Samsung Galaxy SIII is way ahead of anything Apple. Of course we will see what the iPhone 5 delivers but it seems Samsung is unstoppable. The SIII includes so many innovative features like the screen staying on as long as it senses your eyes looking at it. Phenomenal. Needless to say the AMOLED beats any LCD hands down. Plus the SIII is very thin, nicely curved and smooth. The iPhone 4S looks washed and bulky in comparison.

I also like the Nikon Coolpix S-series news. Android as the OS for digital cameras. DSLRs will follow. Fulfilling my vision of Android@Everywhere. The iPhone Embedded vision is not coming. Apple will become a niche player with one phone, two tablets, a few laptops and may be a TV set top box. Android will be everywhere else. In cars. In TV sets. In digital cameras. In coffee machines. It even powers the Boeing 787 Dreamliner entertainment system. Chances are the next robot we send to Mars will have the Google Play store loaded, so the Martians can have equal rights with humans and be able to buy Android apps too.

Android is unstoppable. While Apple will remain Apple, Android is the new Windows, only 10x bigger. Like it or not, this is the fact.
